Umbilical Cord Designs

- I created this piece for a wonderful lady who had recently lost her daughter. Deeply moved by her story, I felt inspired to design something truly meaningful for her. She associated butterflies with her daughter, so I crafted a butterfly on one side of the pendant using her daughter’s hair and umbilical cord. The breastmilk took on a warm golden hue due to the colostrum. Since she had shared that she would often write her daughter’s name in the sand, I incorporated a soft gold shimmer into the piece and added her daughter’s initial beside the butterfly.
